It was nice to get the end of the story but be forewarned, about 30% of the story is a repeat of My Straight Roommate. So, you are paying for about 65% of a story if you have already read the other.

It's still a hip it little story. I wonder if that lube actually exist and if it doesn't I think we need to find someone to help us develop it. LOL

This story is the sequel to Straight Roommate, which I adored. I was hoping this book would not disappoint and was relieved it didn’t. The story takes place after Mitchell graduates college and gets a job. He works for a company that caters to gay men. It is through work that he meets Kayden. Kayden is the boss’s right hand man, and who is hated by everyone. This story was a typical setup in that the boss doesn’t allow employees to date. So predictably, when the boss is out of town Mitchell and Kayden hook up. What ensues is a wonderfully hysterical and heartfelt story filled with love, family, horrible coworkers, one sweet grandma, lots of lube and one heartless boss. This book will make you cry and laugh, but the best part is, it will keep you guessing until the very end. This is one book you don’t want to miss. If you want my advice after you read this, read it’s prequel ‘Straight Roommate’ both books are well worth it.

Mitchell is starting a new job with a company that caters to gay men. He meets Kayden, the assistant that no one at the company likes. They all warn him to watch his back that Kayden is a weasel and backstabber, but Mitchell finds him hot and intriguing.
I really liked this story. I thought it intriguing. I loved all the characters. The office politics really hit home. I went back and forth on the Mitchel/ Kayden thing. I liked Kayden and I could see his point of view. I loved all the crazy ideas the people kept coming up with and I even liked the grouchy hateful boss. This story was lots of fun and very sexy! I think I see a sequel coming and I can’t wait!
I recommend this if you like bartenders, science nerds, whacky ideas, sneaky assistants, and some hot mansex

referring to this book and making scarf

My wife loves knitted scarfs and I wanted to make one and gift her on her b’day. Though I never made any, I know basics of knitting because my mom was into knitting and when I was young I used to help her. So, when I was searching for knitting books, this one was free. So, got it.

This is very detailed book on knitting. I’m referring this book and making scarf. I’m almost done with it. I found this book is easy to follow. If you love knitting and want learn, you can refer to this one. Author has provided illustrations as well. Only thing is, author has to take care of formatting of this book but contents are really good.

I hope my wife likes my gift :).

Three books essentially identical, VERY basic info. Crochet book was nice add on, but none would serve as a resource for anyone but a complete newbie.

A little bit of redundancy for the first two books but the value is still there

I got this book hoping to surprise my gf (who loves knitting) with some new mad knitting skillz! It was difficult at first but the pictures on the first book aided me greatly. The second book seemed like a random throwaway because it had the same pictures as first book and similar topics. Third one made up for it as I learned a couple of new things. Overall nice bundle as it helped me show off (she was still impressed!) but could have been a bit better.

An unnecessary work of insipid brevity.

I should have trusted my instincts. When I read the Table of Contents I thought, "Wow, what a thorough book. BUT how can each topic be dealt with effectively with only a page or so devoted to each subject?" The answer-it can't. And this one certainly doesn't. There's no information contained in this book that you can't find on the internet for free. The writer doesn't ever share any information as if from her own experience, rather you get the impression she read it all in a book or magazine and then cobbled all the information together in one tome for convenience. To wit: Regarding firewood. She states it takes 10 acres of hardwood forest to supply a family with enough firewood for home heating and cooking for ONE year. That's insane. Even if you lived in a polar climate which required heating every day of the year you still would not need 10 acres. If you're looking for books on self sufficient living start with John Seymour's "The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It." If you only have one book on the subject this must be it. For additional reading try "The Encyclopedia of Country Living" by Carla Emery-a wealth of useful information. Also recommended is 'The Ultimate Guide to Homesteading" by Nicole Faires, "Husbandry" by Nathan Griffith, and "The Backyard Homestead" by Gail Damerow. For more detailed works regarding raising a particular animal, solar energy, or preserving food, seek out titles that deal only with those particular subjects in detail. This book is neither a "Guide" or "Manual" as advertised. Unless you're completely ignorant you won't learn a thing from this book.

valued brain dump

Think of this book as sitting down with a friend who's moved off the grid and having them do an afternoon's brain dump of everything they can think of that you'll want to know if you're doing the same.

Is it an exhaustive explanation of each topic as the other reviewer expected and the title might lead one to think? No, it would have to be far longer than 300 pages to do that. But it is everything you want to know in terms of things to be aware of (I thought I'd made a good list before I moved from the city, but I sure wish I'd had this book then) and enough detail about each so you're really oriented towards the significance of aspects of each and what you need to find out more about them. It's like avoiding the 2-3 years initial learning curve because you have a helpful neighbor who clues you in.

I think it would also be a useful book for anyone trying to live a more sustainable and more frugal lifestyle on the grid.

Misleading title

Bought this book on the recommendation from others. I thought from the title it would be what I needed to prepare to use alternative energy resources. Like how to figure out needs, etc.

Personally, I bought it to have some up-to-date knowledge for living without connections to community utilities. I was highly disappointed. It was more of a 'back to basics' living book then living off the grid. They had only a small bit on solar or alternative energy. No great detail.

I actually only read one chapter completely since when I realized what it was, I just skimmed the rest. It did not have any real new knowledge for someone who has been studying the topic for a while. Very very basic primer. I think the REaders' Digest Back to Basics book is better and in more depth.

I feel like I got ripped off. The title is very misleading. It is not even worth the space on my bookshelf so I will be selling this sucker asap.

Now, if I had bought this from a bookstore, I would have been more prepared for the type of book. Since I could not read the copy on the back, I had to go by title/cover page and recommendations from someone.

So, you make your own choice. Great for beginners who want to live a self-sufficient life style. Not worth a penny if you want info about alternative energy info.

Diane Barrett is the president of NextGard Technology and a professor for Bloomsburg University. She has done contract forensic and security assessment work for several years and has authored several other security and forensic books. She is a program director for ADFSL’s Conference on Digital Forensics, Security, and Law; the DFCP certification chair for the Digital Forensic Certification Board; and a volunteer for the NIST Cloud Computing Forensic Science Challenges working group. She holds many industry certifications, including CISSP, ISSMP, DFCP, and PCME, along with several from CompTIA, including Security+. Diane’s education includes a Ph.D. in business administration with a specialization in information security and a master of science degree in information technology with a specialization in information security.

Kalani Kirk Hausman is an author, GRC professional, enterprise and security architect, ISO, and consultant with experience that includes mediumto large-scale globally deployed networks in governmental, higher education, healthcare, and corporate settings. Pearson Test aren't per chapter. Test included is not complete

I purchased this as a google book. Then decided I wanted the paperback and the testing materials. The Pearson tests do not work correctly and they aren't in any hurry to fix it. The PDF test on the cd, has questions from all over the book. The Pearson test software has questions from all over the book. The function to take a test after each chapter DOES NOT WORK! So if you would like a test after each chapter to see what you need to re read you are SOL and Pearson certainly doesn't care! Also you will find out there are more questions available at Pearson if you pay more money...hmmm The Pearson IT Certification practice tests included in this book are incomplete and do not work as advertised! I may as well go back to the online book from google. Any chance I can get my money back for the paperback and useless test
