Interesting and Inspired

Simola's guide to cognitive enhancement has done so much more for me than simply allowing me to think clearer (which it completely has). Not only have I seen an improvement in my critical thinking, but I've noticed a renewed vitality as well. The book is comprehensive to the point where improving your mental health involves improving your physical well being too. I particularly enjoyed his chapters on the supplements and the relationship between energy and eastern dietary practices (the Sattvic diet aka The Gandhi Diet).
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to increase their mental and physical energy!

A Comprehensive Approach to Cognitive Enhancement

As is intelligence is this book manifold. The book discusses a wide range of different aspects of cognitive enhancement varying from memorization techniques (I hihgly recommend using these in your studying) to nootropics and mastering energy with Eastern practices. Its comprehensive approach offers much to reflect and chew. I personally enjoyed reading the parts on smart drugs and lucid dreaming and the whole final section of the book addressing the interesting future of cognitive enhancement.

The Roving Mind is a solid guide to nootropics & other smart drugs but Simola successfully explains that pharmacological substances are only a narrow part of improving mental performance. Good read although specific sources are somewhat difficult to locate in the Notes section as they're listed in order of appearance without showing the page number. For that, 4 stars.
